Indoor Air Quality Testing

We sample indoor air for levels of bacteria, mold, particulates, carbon monoxide, and
organic vapors. Mold surveys and forensic investigations are available. Using a
quantitative Andersen microbe sampling technique, we determine the levels of
respirable and non-respirable microbes. Also swab samples and air settled microbe
samples can be taken for analysis. In many cases, we sample and analyze the
outdoor air for comparison. For legal cases, if needed, we can provide a Certified
Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to assist in the sampling. The presence of most organic
contaminants can be screened using an electronic probe. Sampling, identification
and levels of organic vapors are provided by trapping ambient air on charcoal and/or
Tenax absprbents, eluting with solvent, and analyzing using gas chromatography
with mass spectroscopy (GC/MS) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).
In some cases, we use a personal gas adsorbing badge to determine the levels of
organic in the air. A detailed report with suggested remedies is provided.
